Leaving the country orphanage where he grew up, Sumin goes to Seoul to study design. But after losing his job at a factory due to layoffs, he ends up working as a rent boy in a gay bar. There he meets Jaemin who comes from a rich and conservative family that doesn't accept his sexual identity. Initially Sumin resists Jaemin's advances but eventually he succumbs. After experiencing a brief happiness as passionate lovers, Sumin and Jaemin's relationship disintegrates into heartache and tragedy.
A powerful and emotionally rewarding gay romance that turns abruptly into violence. With assured direction and beautiful intense performances, No Regrets is one of the best gay dramas to come out of Asia and makes a fine companion piece to Wong Kar Wai's recent masterpiece Happy Together . With vivid characters and graphic sex, this is a film filled with joy, sadness and remarkable beauty.
